Most probably private made..Body is period..might have been an SS cap ..It is more in that cut a MAYBE an BEVO eagle ghost on side..not the standard triangle style... Billbert

the area that WAS the eagles LEFT wing is most pronounced..

I don't see anything SS about that cap at all. Waffen-SS sidecaps had the 2 piece insignia on the front, SS-VT or SS-TV may well have them on the side but this would have the hole for the TK button.

The hole would be through to behind the flap where the 'S' ring would be.

I can´t see a ghost, only some traces of mothing.
But additional foto of the back of the cokarde would help.
