    M40 Cap For Review

This cap is not made like those I own or have seen on the forum. It has obviously resewn insignia, no interior markings, and odd grommets that have no washers.

Is there any use in pursuing this cap further? The pictures are probably as bad as the cap, but I decided to post them anyway in the hopes our tropical cap experts could read the tealeaves.

I think thumbs down - but any opinions are appreciated.

    regards, Robert

Interior - has anyone seen these type rivets on (original) caps?

      Robert,
Short answer is YES - I have seen this type of rivet on original caps.
We really do need better images for the cap, though. The colouring etc is all off, so determination is problematic...but judging from the images so far I think you could be correct regarding overall originality.
      CHEERS!

Thanks for taking the time to look it over, Mark. It probably is a bad one.

No worries, Robert. I'm always happy to check out tropical headwear, but it's hard to make definitive calls with photos like this - and I do not wish to condemn anything without being 1000% certain, as there's more stuff out there than any of us has ever seen that fits the non-'textbook' category.
          Regards,
          Mark

            The eagle is a fake
Give a man an opinion and you feed him for a day,
teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.

Agree, though it was said to be reapplied. From these pics, I don't like the cap either, but better pics might change that.

This is all I'm getting for photos - two more shots of the interior material. The inside material looks like the right stuff to me.

So - any chance at all on the actual cap body?

I don't like the twill exterior or the overall shape of the cap; it doesn't look like the one I own or any real ones I've handled. More of a gut feel really, I am no expert on these.

I kind of liked the shape, but I'm no expert on these. Thanks for the opinions. regards, Robert

                        Robert,
This is definitely one to avoid.

                          Agree with Mark,

                          Avoid this one!

                            Not for me neither.
