I've never seen an interior like that before; otherwise the cap looks like a nice but VERY worn piece.

interesting cap. Check the inside flap of the cap and make sure the wool wear is consistant to that of the rest of thecap. (should be less wear) I know in Eastern Europe guys are making caps out of old overcoats, pants, etc... Also the stitiching looks interesting. It may have been re-worked and re-sized. Black light the threads too. My gut is 90% that it is ok, why bother making a $100- cap, but who knows...Re-apped insignia almost for sure.

Thank you Gene and Galizien41.I'm not in posession of the cap so can't check the wear,interesting point about the insignia,is that original?I like this cap for the fact it is so 'worn',but is it a good 'un?

Looks like the interior was partially re-lined with fabric used for tropical side caps.......
