Question regarding piping on a visor

    Gents,

with the piping on a let's say a SS officers visor(or any visor in fact). Should the coloured piping meet "neat" or can it be rolled over together at the ends as seen on the piping on the collar tabs of a panzer wrapper?

    Thanks for any help.

The piping sometimes can be roller over if the piping is make out of silk .

Mark, this is a favorite of Latvian haute couture, so if you are considering one, post it for opinions before you buy!

All 3 lines of piping are made from silk. I took some photos just now but am searching for my cable to download them to my lap top.

The combination of the words 'SS', 'Coloured', 'Piping' and 'Visor' introduce you to just about the most dangerous and highly faked area of IIIrd Reich collecting.

          Be afraid be VERY afraid.

                Hi Macca007,
I've got 9 third reich era visors ranging from early poltical, black SS, wehrmacht
and WSS. None of them have their piping joined in the same manner as the photos you've shown nor are they made from the style of piping either.
I'm by no means an expert but from these photos I'd say no..

Mark, can you post the entire cap?

Actually the piping is rayon not silk.

Any chances of getting pics of the entire cap, as Don asked? Thanks

This is the thread on it. The photos originally posted are gone for some reason. It's 11pm here now and will snap some pics tomorrow during the day.

Thanks for the link. This cap surely gets around. I know I'm sticking to my original opinions.
