Kriegsmarine Admin officer's side cap

I never thought I'd find one of these and now that I did, I thought it would be worth sharing it.

It's a Kriegsmarine officer's side cap piped in silver instead of gold which came with some documents of its original owner. Always nice to have a name to an item. The cap belonged to Marinehauptschiffskapitän Otto Bachert who was born on March 10th, 1900. I'll post some pics of the other stuff that came with it as well for viewing pleasure.

MadJack, unfortunately, this is the only stuff that came in that lot. I think that it'll be very hard to research Otto Bachert. These Admin officers were apparently not even included in the ranking lists.

Then this a really akward rank. Try to google "Marinehauptschiffskapitän" and you'll see that there will only be one entry in the world wide web --- this thread. Would very much appreciate any help on where to look for more info if somebody has an idea.

Kurt, a very nice lot, and that bordmütze is a beauty, congratualations.

Is not easy to find info about this rank, because is very rare. This mas was an official from the technical branches, he was in the Nautical Service (Seemännische Fahrzeugbeamte-Schiffsführerdienst), with the medium level career.

First promotional document is from Schiffsführer (Oberfeldwebel) to Schiffskapitän (Leutnant) and the other from this to Betriebsleiter (Oberleutnant).
