    Vet Find: SS Officer Visor

Just got this from the son of the veteran (in the UK). Came with the vet's medals, some of his personal documents, etc. The neat thing is, it came with the original insignia, and it's virtually impossible today to find an SS Visor that you KNOW has the original insignia on it.

All sorts of things come through my hands out of the woodwork, but this is my first SS Officer Visor. It was exciting to add this to the list of "been there, done that." I haven't checked for the skull and eagle type yet - skull is plastered in place, so I won't be able to see the back, but I should be able to get behind the eagle.

Yes and it looks to be an Erel Kleiderkasse too.

Trying to get behind the eagle, and it's an M 1/167.

Disgraceful behaviour, I think you ought to return it to the UK right now, to me.

Interesting. I had it pegged as Clemens Wagner, but I'm NOT the expert at spotting makers. Can you tell me how you can tell (I would like to learn).

Regarding returning it to the UK, well . . . I suppose we ought to give back the colonies too Just kidding! You guys have enough on your plate this weekend, what with the wedding and all.

CW is also a possibility. They both used the same sweatband on the Kleiderkasse visors. I was going by the tall peak.

Is there any "digging" I can do inside the hat, to possibly peg the manufacturer?
