Hi,
Better pics needed of the gold cord and close ups of the insignia, is it vented? but i like the look so far. not a worry that it hasn't got the generals usuall insignia.

I was curious as to whether a general could have a green soutache cap?

I visited this cap recently, say g'day to Dave for me ! Sadly the cap doesn't have too many fans with those that have seen it. The current owner is happy with it though ! (he has a genuine M40 that is a screamer though !).

Hi Bob, As you well know, IMHO, the makers diamond is a very bad sign also.

As are the lack of grommet vents.

As are certain construction details.

Just because it lacks grommets doesn't mean its a bad cap. I have a stellar M40 that has no grommets. I agree I don't like several parts of this cap but just saying that no grommets isn't a deal breaker. Matt

Matt! I have seen your cap, and yes it is good, but your cap has no bearing on this cap.

The point is, any M40 lacking grommets is an unusual exception, not standard, and THEREFORE requires careful scrutiny! Geeez!
