Hi Don,
I was looking at this thread in the Dagger & Edged Weapons Forum and look what popped up as one of the images that was posted. Scroll down to the 4th image and you'll see this cap.

Can someone pull the pics and post them? The computer im on won't let me access ebay. It looks like an Infantry died to pz. gren which did occur, would like to see more of the cap. One of our members offered a similar cap that was died a month or two ago... should have jumped on it but passed due to the price. I find that these are legit in some cases but they are worth only what an Infantry cap goes for as one can never be sure when it was died. The recent died ones tend to be rather shotty, or at least the ones I have seen so far are bad. The people usually spill the die into the cloth where many of the period done ones tend to be done relatively precise. The color usually takes on different shades on different parts of the pipping. Ha
Yes, this is my cap and it was purchaced off e-stand for $1000 from a very reputable member. The piping color is 100% legit as is every inch of this hat! I tried to show it in the photos of the piping. I am able to pull the piping back to expose the stitching that holds it in. This is the original thread used to construct the hat and it is white going right through the bright green. I pulled back the piping on every inch of this hat and their is no way it was ever re-dyed. I would have sent it back to the person who sold it to me if I thought it for a second.
Please explain how the piping was re-dyed. I thank you guys so much for ruining my sale!

Don, Do words still fail you?? Before you decide to futher ruin my reputation please explain to me how this piping was re-dyed. The color goes deep into the hats construction and failed to touch a single thread. Just how was this re-dyed?? The person must have been a master!!
I may have working mans hands but I do have good eyes and know what I see.Attached Files
