    Opinions on Luft visor cap

Give it to me straight - Do I have a good one here or is it a lemon? If it's good it's going on the estand as soon as I discover approximate worth. Expert opinions certainly welcome! Thanks again,

    David

    Hi David,
Your Luftwaffe visor cap is an original. It is a standard issue type for signals troops. The exterior is in excellent condition, and sadly missing the leather sweatband.
    Thank you,
    Curtiss

How much does the missing leather band affect the value? I would guess it would be considerable but perhaps the exterior being in good shape would make up for some of it.

        Thanks again,

From what I've seen, missing sweatbands can affect the value of caps significantly. I remember a really nice Erel admin cap that went on the e-stand for like 40% of its market value because it had a period-replaced sweatband.
All this aside, your cap has a great exterior and shape going for it.

Missing the sweatband, I would say this is a $400 cap

You may, of course, post any asking price on the estand, but , IMHO, $700 for a signals cap, sans sweatband is pushing it.

Look, I can't even get $700 for a near mint FLIGHT em visor, which is much more desirable than a signals any day. I would say your hat might bring $300-350 in today's market.

can I change the asking price on the sale thread without raising the mods anger?

BTW, the visor is obviously re-attached as there is no sweatband to hold it in place.

Agree, on the high end maybe 450.

                        Ok guys,

I'll drop the price to $400 dollars. I have a difficult time determining prices on some of the items I have and was way off. Is there a way to change the price on the sale thread itself? The rules are 72 hours before a price reduction bump, I'm not aware of how the mods would react if I did it this soon.

                        thanks,
                        David

You'll have to wait until the 72 hours is up, or the mods can pull your listing if you try updating a price before that time.
