Any thoughts on this one? unfortunatly no better pics yet. What would be a reasonable price?

From the pics provided, I'd say this looks like a nice but faded original Schutzpolizei visor cap. Probably sat out exposed to the sun for quite some time. You can still see the outline of the eagle.

I'd say these are normally priced roughly like WH Infantry caps...

It looks like the visor itself has been photoshopped, just look at the edge on the front pic, the right side.

Yes indeed. He also thinks this is a cap used by the ss-polizei-division..that's why he asks this high price I think

Technically, this cap could very well have belonged to a member of an SS Polizei unit as police members were transferred to the SS. This still makes it a police cap though. An Iron Cross also stays an Iron Cross and won't suddenly cost 1000;- Euros because it belonged to an SS member... Kurt

Agreed.

The cost simply isn't worth the item. Even with absolute certainty, the man would have to have been known for something to warrant the price. What date was his death, can you read it?

I'm not saying it is the case, but we can all find photos of items we own being worn by men during the war.
