I think a better picture of the trapezoid is needed. I don't like what I see so far. Is the lining a herringbone pattern? Is it cotton or a rayon / simulated silk?

Its an Enlisted / NCO cap. The only distinction was between these and an offficers cap which would have the officers piping around the crown.

original lufty cap, not sure about the insignia looks like its one of those blue felt/badge cloth type insignias are they foreign made or just repro insignias i don't know sometimes they are machine sewn through the liners and some are not ?

As always, agree with Lenny on this one. A good cap, but would not say the same for the insignia, unless it was foreign produced as Lenny theorized it "could" be. It is not any insignia I would want in my collection.

I have a cap EXACTLY like this one with the same trapazoid and I like it alot, mine is not sewn through the lining though but I can tell it was reaplied after the war.The old stiching from the old trapazoid can be seen under the reapplied one. There were different original varations of there insignia from the research Ive done.
