Show us your used CW tropical Sidecaps

    Greetings Everyone,

On another thread on Clemens Wagner tropical M40's its come to an understanding that there are very few Vet bring back CW M40's ?

But now, so far no one can come up with a used CW tropical sidecap EITHER. Though there are a fair number of mint ones from the beehive cache. Does any member have a used tropical CW sidecap especially a Vet bring back ? Am aware of only one myself.

Would like to see any members used CW sidecap ?

    Thanks !

This is the first thread of mine without a single reply, but it is Opening Day to a new season and its still very early, so i could still hit .300 or so this year, talkin Baseball terms. Which is pretty damn good. No one hits close to everything.

    From another thread,

Ok thanks for the confirmation via the lack of replies. (Will presume thats the case) and If two of the most respected and careful collectors have never see a used CW tropical sidecap, its a good chance there are very few out there.

Yet there are plenty of those unissued CW sidcaps that were found . Mostly small sizes which implies that the larger sized ones were issued to the troops....from as early as Feb '42 to at least Jan '43 judging from the dates on them.

What is the Forums Members opinion on this, The CW sidecaps were widely used but just very few examples remain today ? Or that the mint sidecaps found are just about the only CW sidecaps that were produced (very doubtful) ?? Probably somewhere in between more likely.

There are so many mint CW sidecaps, yet very few used examples ? What about the CW M40 caps, very few examples have been found again just like the sidecaps (with the mint ones being the exception). Same would hold true for them would it not ? In other words, just as we have not seen the abundance of used sidecaps yet they obviously existed in large numbers. The CW M40's would be the same case one would think ?

But will ask again just in case someone has a used CW tropical cap ?
