I thought members might enjoy seeing photos comparing two similar Waffen SS M43 caps.
The first cap, showing use and with the cloth Edelweiss came from the Don Woods collection in the 1970s. Until this year, it was the only example I (remember) seeing from this maker.
The second cap, which I obtained recently, is almost identical except it is mostly unworn and includes grommets, a feature doumented in this 2009 thread:

Otherwise, it is almost identical:
> made of mid war quality wool
> ribbed cotton lining
> full leather sweatband
> maker mark in rectangular shaped box with size indicted below (faint in the worn example)
> small single button
> dual insignia rather sloppily hand-applied with quite a bit of excess backing showing around the wreath
> absence of bias materials in the turn down
> lack of side pull tapes
