That's better!!! Affirms my original observation of a bogus cap that has been "RELINED". Look at the poor fit and cut of the liner at the front of the cap.....the very light green cap band is also a giveaway!

          Hi Toby

It's a dog! Dave, my evil mentor , has already pointed out that the cap band is way off in color. I would also be concerned about the logo and size stamping. I have not seen many officer-quality visors with a size stamping on them. Also, without any stitching for a sweat shield, I would question them putting such a nice log on a cap that would be smeared by sweat and hair pomade!

            Hi

I have a rookie question. I thought that the very early visor caps had a lighter green band?. Could it be an early cap or the green color is wrong anyway for an early example?

            regards

            Juan

Juan, your question is valid and yes a VERY early (poss. pre '35) may have a light colored band! However, all things considered with this cap....shape, make and materials used strongly suggest ofcourse that it's not the case with this cap.

The color looks odd even if this were an early lid. I also am not too sure about the visor itself - the shape seems wrong somehow. Any thoughts, Dave?

Don, correct! It flattens out in the area of the ridge not unlike early post war Police visors etc.
