    Infantry visor.

Hi,I'm assuming as with the waffenrock issued to O/R and NCOs that they would have an issue visor and as with the waffenrock they could purchase a superior tunic or cap, would makers like Erel and Pekuro have manufactured the issue visors? With the information on the forum ' How to photography your collection' I built myself a lightbox to photograph my collection. Here is my first attempt, my only visor an Infantry type with it's former owner pictured who fell in the later part of 1942. Regards David.

The quality is of the photo good, but for a 'good picture', you can't have a large border like that.

Very nice visor by the way.

A photobox makes for some great photography

It's always nice to have a photo of the soldier who once owned the cap. And to answer your question, Yes the soldier could buy a Private Purchase cap from Erel or Pekuro, and will "often" have the gefrupt (acceptance) mark behind the sweatband. Who is the maker of this cap?

Thanks for replying. No marks on the sweat band and no celuloid triangle,I'm assuming it was an issue cap. Cheers David.

              ...

With that high peak, I would suspect private purchase. Please provide some interior shots so we can be sure.

Hi, here are a couple of inside shots,it's a bit messy in there a well worn hat! He was in the army in 1936 maybe earlier than that, one would imagine he would have been a career soldier if he had not have been cut down in 42. So one would imagine he might well have bought a private purchase cap. Regards David.

Why not? I think the border and photography look just fine.
