DAK Cap

Good day Guys

I purchased this cap over the weekend. With the cap at my place I was able to get some more detailed pictures to post.

It is marked Carl Halfar Berlin N20 56 1941

After spending the last 3 days reading all the threads on M40's on the forum I am well aware that these are mine field and not for the faint hearted but I had to make a quick call and bought it.

I look forward to hearing your thougths and comments on this piece.

Thanks for the feedback Jacques-it was for sale in SA and I had to send my parent's on a 650km round trip yesterday to go and pick it up.

Looks good to me, correct grommets and insignia application for this maker etc.., though I have never owned one of these and probably don't know what I am talking about!

CONGRATULATIONS, Barry!

This DAK field cap is original and fantastic with it's field upgraded officer piping!! The insignia is classic Halfar with the zigzag stitching application (using same thread as rest of cap) and olive drab cotton material is typical of this maker. No doubt in my mind and a great find! :-)

I sure do. I currently work in India so I had to enlist the help of my parents to go and pic up the cap
