    Reichswehr/Early TR General Officer Visor

All, I picked this up a few weeks ago. At the time the visor was completely seperated from the body of the cap, and the sweatband was 1/3 loose along the front where the visor should have been. At one point somebody had tried to reattach it in part using glue. It took me about six hours of very careful work to remove the residue from the visor, and another four hours to stitch it and the sweatband back into place. The sweatband is original and still pliable save for the one torn spot. Thanks to the generosity of member Kurt, I have an M34 cap eagle on the way to complete the cap. It's a size 59, to boot. Here's the original thread where I asked abut it: http://wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/s...d.php?t=478795

I am still not sold on the cap cord, and currrently have a later bullion one on there. Take a look at the original and tell me what you think - I suspect it may be early political.

Here are some interior shots. I had to remove about an inch of the cork board as it had gotten glued to the sweatband. Some moth nips to the field gray cap band, but otherwise the body is in excellent shape. There are inked letters under the sweatband that look like "TB".

Here are a couple of shots of the original cord that was on it. Any idea if it might be Reichsheer?

I think the original cord might be Austrian...

Thanks, Arran - I hadn't thought of that. Would it be for an Austrian general officer, or was the color of cords different in the Austrian Heer?
