    Gebirgsjäger officer visor

    Dear friends
Following our old tradition, I received something for christmas from an old friend of our family (former Gebirgsjäger Oberleutnant). This time I got his personal visor and tunic.
His last present was already introduced under:

Today I proudly present his visor as follows.
    Best regards
    Stephan

        First off Congrats.

Did he say when he received the cap? Was he still an NCO? The reason for asking is, because this is a standard EM/NCO contract cap, that obviously been upgraded.

You really are lucky. Very nice hat.
Do you have a picture of the tunic(s) any medals as well perhaps?

After taking pictures I will post the tunic within the next days in the correct forum..
On his uniform EK I, DRL Sports badge, Wound badge in black was affixed as well as on the right sleeve badge for mountain troups and special badge for single-handed destruction on silver braid (but I think this one is fake and was added post war)
                regards Stephan

That is a lovely visor (and grouping). There is nothing wrong with the eagle, it was common to see bullion eagles on visors.

The cap looks great. He probably upgraded to all bullion insignia during a promotion

Nevertheless an indication, that he liked an eagle like this...
