WSS Overseas Cap - Help Needed

I've been offered this side cap and I am really excited to buy my first piece of SS headgear. I've seen the cap in hand and it looks good to me but I've handled very few SS hats and would really like to hear everyone's opinions before I commit to buy. Thanks.

                  Hallo HJ12

                  I agree with the others

The eagle is crudely restitched and, in my opinion, this fact demands for a lower price than usual.

Thanks for the opinions, I'm really excited about this one and it's nice to hear it's a good one.

And what about the lack of false piping (for the "textbook" school)

                        Wasn't this just on ebay??

The cap belongs to a friend of mine and he got it from Karl Kithier at SV Militaria a couple years ago, it was not offered on eBay.

Alexandre, what is false piping? Should I be concerned?

I am no SS headgear collector, but in regards to "False piping" in regards to other caps,

The area where the visible stitching that runs along the top of the cap should resemble "Piping".
The piping is in fact part of the body of the cap and in effect no stitching should be visible

To see a good example of false piping, have a look at the recent thread by Kelly W and the unissued Luftwaffe overseas cap.

Ok thanks, I was sure I just seen this cap recently. Might have been a past WAF thread as I was doing some research on OS caps. I added a few better pics for you on the false piping in the Luft OS cap thread.
