    Cannot find this maker

    Curious if anyone has come across this hat maker label or has a hat from this maker? The name on the shield says "Fritz Spang, Mutzen Macher Meister -Gumbinnen".

    Gumbinnen, now in Russia, was part of Germany or East Prussia where some great WW1 battles took place.

        This eagle design is a true "generic" logo used by many smaller makers.
        Whoever made the celluloid simply added the name of the company to the logo. If you go through the obscure maker pinned thread, you will see many examples of this logo.

          Thanks guys.... I did see the other sweat shield logos similar to this one but was unable to see another hit on the maker Fritz Spang.

          I will post the photo to the "obscure maker" thread.
