So Volksdeutschen + KdP (Karpatendeutsche partei-Slovakeien) in Slovakia and einsatzstaffel in Croatia both adopted this eagle for wear....

and Dealer A.BeadleLTD from the UK recently sold this hat described as a Croatian einsatz staffel piece (confirming these eagles were also used in Croatia!)
Provided this is a ligit piece of course! The period portret does prove these were worn also in Croatia...but better known for their Slovak connection.

Last set. Its hard to find images with Slovak-German cap eagle in wear! As hard as finding real Slovak-German cap Eagles in modern times! The other cap eagles btw not marked in these images with arrows are Hlinka eagles, not German Slovak! Images are fuzzy so I just wanted to make that clear! (source credit as tagged, both Getty,Life and Ullstein all claim these photos, which for the most part are Hoffman made propaganda images).

I wonder if any of these Slovak Karpaten-Deutsche partei "KdP" + Freiwilligen Schutzstaffel "FS" (their version of Algemeine SS) visors survived?
Probably hardly any, as anything from that period was probably destroyed in post war communist Czecho-Slovakia!

At least my Slovak German visor made it out...(no doubt a US bound Karpaten Deutsche emigrant, as it was found on these shores!) Still intriguing what organization it belonged to! Veterans org? KdP Party? FS?
Hope this was interesting! I enjoyed researching this!

Well I could not find a metal Slovak Volksdeutsche eagle but obtained one in cloth (hand embroidered on gray backing).
It was offered described as a sleeve eagle but too small in size for a uniform and did not have the proper backing color for it to be used as a uniform sleeve eagle...
The measurements are more like in between a sleeve and cap eagle and with the gray backing I think I found a home for it...(fits perfectly)

This Slovak made German cap was bought with a Heer cap eagle on it, but I wanted a German "Volksgruppe" Slovak metal eagle (hard to find!) and gave up the search, but compromised after finding this eagle!
(btw Slovak visors, Hinkla Guards etc...often had big cloth eagles)

German pattern but Slovak made! "Bratislava" aka "Pressburg" in German language, as stated inside the cap.
Complete address info is also in German!

              Franz Kaniok
Kürschner - Kappenmacher (=cap maker in German)
Bratislava - Pressburg (the latter the German name for Bratislava)
              Schondorfergasse 56 (Passage)

Based on the maker info there is no doubt that it's a pre 1945 German Volksgruppe civil mutze,
so their symbol is appropriate (SS style eagle clutching a swastika on a shield!)

Period images of similar Slovak German Voksgruppe caps.
The portrait is the Political Leader of the Deutsche Partei (DP) in Slovakia.
(however both examples shown with metal eagles clutching a shield)

My opinion is that this kind of fabric, both "salt and pepper" and "herringbone" styles, were employed in the making of werkschutz uniforms and headgear.

Could very well be Werkschutz related! No doubt their was Werkschutz in the industrialized Czech part (+Sudetenland) and perhaps also on the Slovak side
                    of former Czechoslovakia.

                    Kind of like this cap:

Researching this further, as I already know its a civilmutze of a German pattern (but Slovak made) I found this on the web...
instead of Werkschutz ID'd as a DAF fest mutze for veterans, (as I stated in the first /opening post!)

DAF Deutsches Arbeitsfront Mütze: These were typically worn by members of the DAF,
who also belonged to the Veteran’s Association. Dark blue wool top, black band with embroidered oakleaves,
leather covered visor with a nice checkered green fiber brim. Small size 55.
The eagle on the hat is a replacement, missing all three prongs, period safetypin soldered on, marked RZM 117.

It fits this pattern perfectly! Note 1941 lieferjahr (delivery date), which makes it an official government contract cap,
further proof mine is indeed also war time...So made outside of the Reich and either DAF or Werkschutz related I guess!

This one is German made by the well known maker Carl Halfer, who did lots of civilian, police and other para-military caps! Note very similar material!
So mine is a DAF Festival cap intended for war veterans or a werk schutz mutze, made in the Slovak territory for a Volksdeutsche veteran.
The Slovak-Deutsche Volksgruppe eagle is still a possibility! Shown below a German pattern eagle on the Carl Halfar schirmmutze in the same material!

Is it a genuine Slovak eagle? Would look good (way better) on my Slovak German visor!
                            Thanks for posting!

The eagle is as good as gold, heavy, sturdy and crisp and IT'S MINE, in hand now! Here is it's new home!
Much better than the hand embroidered variant I was playing with earlier!
