I don't normally 'jump in' on these, but one obvious question:-

What makes this a HG cap?

To me it is, at best, a heavily customized variant of a LW tropical cap. I am, however, unable to see any link to the HG Panzer Division.

Nothing.

I believe the reference to HG is because the hat is often called a "Meyer" after HG's famous quote.
