Army Artillery Officer's Overseas Cap

Just picked this up today, a nice early private purchase army artillery officer's overseas cap in great condition. Has some wear and tear on the inside for use, you can even see the sweat around the bottom edges. Stamped 58 on the inside. The only thing I question because I haven't seen it before is the inside of the grommets look to be stamped brass? is that a normal trait of these early caps or do I have a excellent reproduction on my hands?

Only private cap....I run if I see an EM issue cap with those brass grommets
