A Luftschutzbund Officer Visor Hat-I think this one is real!

I'm working my way through a guy's collection that he is thinking of selling parts of. If you have followed my posts in the different Forums, you've seen that a lot of it is repro junk. I don't think that description applies to this hat.
Silver piping, metal cap insignia, silver wire bullion wreath & metal cockade. Maker is Erstklassig (gesetzl.gesch.) & the plastic diamond is complete and uncracked. It has a little mothing on the underside of the crown, but overall is in great shape. The leather visor is still fresh and bright and shiny black. He is asking $800 for it.
First, would you agree that it's the real McCoy & secondly, would you say that $800 is a good price for a para-military formation like this from the 3rd Reich?
    Thanx,
    Tim

It is a LW visor with RLB insignia. RLB had a plain black wool band (not ribbed mohair). Also, with an officers, it should have a matching bullion eagle. Could be for a LW officer who transferred to the LSB, but no way to prove it.

Check the pasteboard for empty holes.

BTW, the body of the hat is real--made by Clemens Wagner.

My initial feeling as well. It is exponentially rarer in this configuration.

It could, of course, have been worn like this, but . . .

Thanks a lot Billbert, I had just settled into the notion that all this stuff was made by a people looking forward towards the 1000 year Reich, and collector's bazaars decades later...DANG!
