If it started life as a WH cap, I'd also vote Admin.
If you can, try to get a picture of the interior (if it's not your cap already of course). Many postwar West German police or border guard troops also had dark green piping and the outside shape is sometimes similar to WH caps at first sight. On my screen, the fabric of the cap itsself appears to have a greenish touch to it (rather than grey).
