Opinions on this overseas cap please

    Dear Members,

I purchased a collection form the grandaughter of a WW11 veteran.

Here is an overseas cap stamped GEORGE GRUTE ? HANNOVER 1942

    SIZE 56 1/2.

What outfit regiment is this ?

Plus it does not have the usual v It looks like it has a silk blue triangle under the eagle, is this transport ?

Any comments and advice are welcome. Regards Stephen.

Thank you for the feedback !

Dear Annelie, km -Spain , Richard P, billbert,

Thank you for telling me what outfit this was from.

Why does it not have the usual v piping, around the national colours ?

Regarding the grandaughter, the sad part is that they basically were going to just through the stuff away.I paid them a good price to secure the items.

There is so much history and personal items there in this collection.

Letters dated 1945 souveniers, medals, etc.

This is why we are collectors, to preserve history through the personal items of someone who "WAS THERE" and this was a huge part of his life.

                  Regards Stephen.

Looks like a good Vet grouping.
Is that an SS or an SA dagger?

                          Dear ALL,

Thanks for the kind words and info.

The dagger is an NSKK and can be seen in the dagger section.

                          Regards Stephen.
