    Opinions on M43 cap please

Hello. I have been offered this M43 cap. I have limited experience with these caps, and I would like some opinions on it.

    Regards
    Björn

          reproduction imo
Give a man an opinion and you feed him for a day,
teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.

Hello Lenny W, and thanks for your opinion.
After studying the photos from the seller, I have increasingly more questions about the originality of this cap as well.
The lining materieal looks somewhat strange. It looks almost like drillich or hbt type cloth with herringbone patterns.
The seams under the peak/visor is also something that I have not seen before on other M43 caps.

I don't have much experience with M43 caps, so I would like to hear more opinions from other collectors as well.
All comments and help are most welcome.

            Greetings
            Björn

I have some additional info on the cap from the seller.

The peak/visor is apparently of soft cloth, and not cardboard-stiffened like on regular M43's.
This could explain the extra seams under the peak.

                Greetings
                Björn

I have a soft visored M43. They are not popular with textbook collectors and these are certainly something to be approached with caution, but they undoubtable existed. Mine is an original.

I'm not sure on your cap, but the soft bill is scary, though NOT a definate NO.

                    regards, Robert

i have had plenty of ORIGINAL caps with a softer more pliable visor when held by the visor it will not support the weight of the cap but imo this cap is not an original cap

Fair enough Lenny, and thanks for amplifying on this one. A soft visor alone is not the kiss of death - mine also has the one row of top outer bill stitching and heavy underside stitching, though not to this degree.

Other factors come into play with this cap, however.

                        regards, Robert

Thank you very much for your help guys.
I will Not buy this cap then. It's very unfortunent for the seller, who really thought that the cap was original. The owner of the cap is aware of this thread, and is following it from the sideline.
