Crusher --- what branch or organisation???

I received this interesting crusher today which clearly is a pre 1945 (probably even much earler) product. It does have all the caracteristics of a true alter Art Knautschmütze (even a buckram pasteboard) & this is the second crusher I have encountered that even still has the metal spring inside.

At first I thought it was a Reichsmarine/Kriegsmarine field grey crusher but then it would have one more piping and probably Navy buttons. Another option would be Forestry. Does anyone have a clue?

    Thanks... Kurt

Kurt, I would guess some early Reichsheer cap, based on the color of the capband, the leather peak and the fabric of the capbody. Jacques

I think it is a provisional RH officers cap, these were based on the M1917 universal officers cap. They had piping matching the cap band and no waffenfarbe etc. just badge cloth.

                    That's a great cap.

                      Possibly Stahlhelm.

Here it is with period insignia on it. IMO it is a variation of the Universal cap for RH officers. I do not think it is Stahlhelm. It is very early.
