OVERSEAS CAP without holes

I have received from private this overseas cap , i think this original , I have until now not seen without holes . What you think about this ?

Hello Michael,

to answer your question; yes you can get original M34 and officer M38 side caps made before May 1945 without grommets but not that often.

The one you show would appear to have a good chance of being original but I would need to have it in hand to be able to say more.

When there are no grommets in a sidecap then one needs to be extra careful to check that it is not a reproduction because the grommets are a hard point for a faker to get right and hence some reproduction caps do not have them,
