Would be interested to hear any opinions on this side cap and if anyone can help on the embossed leather sweatband, I can make out DEUTSCHE INT?????? and embossed oakleaves (?) above the text, any help appreciated.

Interesting soutache apparently made from badge cloth rather than Russia braid. Not unheard of in officer's caps.

Still looks like badge cloth to me...flat featureless weave, lack of visible braiding, uneven thickness & bunching at the apex lead me to believe that this is constructed from badge cloth (or strip of felt) rather than cut from a spool of Russia braid. I have seen badge cloth used this way before, but not nearly so well executed. A macro shot of the chevron would show better yea or nay.
I do like the cap, however.
