    Erel Vulkanfiber Production 1945-49

Believe it or not, Lubstein made fiberhelms for the DDR Feurwehr during the 45-49 period. They are black vulkanfiber, and one has to question how practical they were given the nature of the material.

These are often sold as pre-war production, but are not:

It looks like they continued using the TR decal commonly found in wartime Shakos. Placement is unusual:

The above one has been transformed into a Heer helm by use of the tri-color, but it is postwar:

Fiberhelms were made by Erel before the war. Most were originally made for export to Chile, and the ones that went unsold were simply decalled with Heer decals by Erel. (The logos are in spanish).
Here is a stonemint original owned by Mike H:

Sorry to pull this one back up, but I found a Lubstein-marked export helmet this past weekend, but I swear it was in aluminum and not vulkanfibre. It had the identical logo as the one shown above. Can anyone confirm that Lubstein did paradehelms in aluminum as well?

                    Thanks,

                    Don
