The white top was removable so it could be cleaned, I was wondering would it be feasible to clean it now?

I think there is no problem cleaning the top and I have been able to take it off.

It should turn out good, I think others have hand washed these in Woolite.

If I was you I would not wash that white topper, leave it as it is. Ateast by doing that no harm can come to it through washing accidents, also it keeps it's accrued dirt history too. I see far too many ultra clean white toppers and love to see them stained like this one...
