M43 Opinions

This cap out of a large collection is in mint unissued condition.Upon first examination it has that old musty smell as if it has been in storage for years. I always smell helmets and other headgear for that distinctive smell of age, paint etc. This one appears to have an original applied one-piece Bevo woven triangular shaped national eagle and cockade which appears originally sewn.It has two aluminium grey-green pebbled buttons with"RSS" stamped on the inside. The inside gray twill type cotton lining is numbered, coded M44 and size57 stamped. It also has the small straps for the earflaps. Well thats it. Thanks David
