    Luft tan pith

    Hi,

I have just bought this one and I am waiting for it to arrive. It was listed as Luft and here are the sellers pics. It looks right for Luft, IMO.
I'll post some more pics when it arrives.

    Thanks, Jerry

    Hallo!

Yes, it looks as luftwaffe pit... It's clear that the last words have to be speaked by the holes of the former badge on the side of the helmet...

    Nice helmet, indeed!

    Cheers!

Hi Frank, it's the pale tan leather trim and chinstrap that say Luft to me, but I shall see when it arrives which type of eagles pins fits the holes.

      Thanks, Jerry

Sure, you're right! Classical LW signs...

        Cheers!

As does the green under the brim.
I pretty certain its a Clemens Wagner, from what I can see of the inkstamp shown by the seller.

          Thanks, Jerry

            VonBond:
Nice pith. I think LW to but need to look at holes and how they line up to shields bc I have seen Heer shields orig. to "brown brim" Luft pith.

              Hi Jerry

Also think its a LW version based on the tan leather edging and chinstrap. But check the size of the band hiding the central seam where the upper & lower portions are joined, the LW version has a wider band than the Herr version.
The holes for the shields and eagle were pre-punched so that will not be of much help unless they appear to have been added post war...look forwards to more photos

Hi Gary, I've got two luft pith eagles, both have been 'approved' on the Waf.
Thanks to all for your comments.

Hi, it arrived today and I could not restrain myself from replacing the eagle. The pin holes were the right width for a luft eagle, which is too far apart for a heer/km eagle shield. Sorry if the pics are a bit poor, the light has not been good today.
