looks good to me and there is definetly a connection between Aufklärungs-Ersatz-Abteilung 14 and Kav-Regt. 5.

This is a very elusive maker: I have a single entry into my files about a Kurschnerei Carl Roth of Offenburg in the year 1898.

Be careful with the Round Roth maker mark as Janke uses this mark...

One thing Janke like, is this type of liner, together with the type of visor both this repro SS cap shown below which is also cavalry has. The cap shown below and the subject cap's visor undersides seem quite similar, just the colour's different....

I like the Roth distributor Pekuro, but i'm not too keen on the cav subject visor..
