    Alter Art "Crushers" Galore!

I thought this was interesting. A few years ago when I was hunting for a nice Crusher they were quite difficult to locate.
Now Regimentals has at least three and BenVK has a nice one on the E-Stand. I guess they have been hidden away in the U.K. all these years.

I wonder whether the ones offered by Regimentals as shown above are genuine.

Do a search on Regimentals and I think you'll get a mixed review.

          Hi Karl,
The crushers LOOK good, but as said , they have mixed reviews, at least on TR items.
A late, close friend of mine bought a number of British and Imperial German headgear from them, and they all looked authentic to me.
No bargains from, them, that's for sure!

Does anyone have any view upon the Green Piped one? It seems to be good!

Stonemint, do you have any comments about them, especially the Green Piped one?

Yes, c'mon Stonemint, let's hear it!

In all seriousness, no one is going to be able to authentic a cap, especially these kind of caps, based on a few glossy photos. Regimentals certaintly aren't going to help you. Everything is 100% according to them and they will never admitt otherwise.

It worries me how much emphasis is being placed on the shoulders of certain members here to declare this cap or that cap as being original.

Learn for yourselves, study and study somemore. Buying any cap based on photos is a risk. Until you get it in your hands and know what to look for, it's never certain.

Take the Erel Generals crusher on the recent thread for example. It's taken a lot of detailed photos to get to a point where it's about 90% probable that it's original IMO. Would I declare it original without question? Of course not, that's impossible without handling it.

I to must agree with Ben and Robin. All one can do when looking at a few photos is see that a item does appear original, but that isn't a 100% guarantee that it is. Like Ben said "learn for yourself" everything you can about the items you want to collect.
                      Also Regimentals does offer a guarantee, I don't know if they truly honor it always but here's part of it;

                      Guarantee
All items are guaranteed to have been manufactured before 1945 unless otherwise stated, we offer a guarantee that if a customer is not satisfied in any way with the item or items received the item or items can be returned.

I just got tipped off to this. Crushers are not my specialty--I like my visors with cords, springs, and 3-D insignia, and furthermore, I second what Ben and Robin say.....

IMHO, judging from all the photos of these 3 Crushers provided by Regimentals, all the crushers seem to be good. I especially like the Green Piped and Panzer ones. True that Regimentals does have good and bad items!

The pics provided are limited and don't show key features that you would look for in a hands on inspection.

Just like any item, a hands on will be needed on each one of these.

                              David,
Matt is correct. You should see if Regimentals will send you some additional photos of under the sweatband.
