Would appreciate some help with this cap as I know nothing about caps.

A good one. The eagle is placed higher as usual to give enough space for the Edelweiss. So I think the Edelweiss was there from the beginning and not later applied to force the price. The green piping is hard to tell - there are at least 3 different green shades: Admin, Jäger/Gebirgsjäger, Panzergrenadier. But with the insignia applied correctly I see no doubts.
