                Paris Gun.

If my books took YOU back in time, think what they do to ME every time I pick them up!!

They're a bit like antiques themselves now.

You're right re. Danzig - but it was Danzig Police units who wore the Prussian-style totenkopf on the side of their helmets in commemoration of the 1st and 2nd Prussian Leibhusaren who were based at Danzig in Imperial times. This is a different (Brunswick) skull.

                Best regards,

                Robin.

Any guesses ?? IR92?? Freikorps?? Something else??

I've already posted this under Imperial, but no luck.

Whatever it is, it certainly isn't regulation.
                  Hi Robin,
imo its peculiar artwork is more reminiscent of the ones found on the M16 Austrian helmets worn by some units of the Finnish Army in the 1939/40 Campaign!I think it's worth checking further because it would be a GREAT find!
                  Hope it helps

I too think that that is Finnish, if you go to Mosin-nagant.net and look for the uniform section I think you will find similiar helmuts. Very cool
