Another look - Pz Officers M43/Bergmutze

I recently sold this one but the buyer decided to return it because he didn't feel comfortable with it. He also took it to the SOS where it received neutral responses apparently with no one being sure either way. I don't know who it was that looked at it though.

Can you guys take another look please and let's see if we can get some definite opinions. My own opinion is that it's not a fake or repro cap. It's an original cap of German manufacture and it's definitely old. Is it a wartime Panzer cap though? I can't be totaly sure of that but it could be IMO.

Just to remind everyone, the eagle is not original to the cap. That was bought from a forum member and I sewed it on myself.

8. There is a lot of caked on sweaty grime around the edge of the cap. IMO this is authentic and it's been there a long time.

9. There is a small cut in the lining. I believe someone did this deliberately at some point to have a look inside the cap. In this photo, you can just about see the cheesecloth and cotton padding material. Also, there is an interior stiffener that runs all the way around the cap. It's made of a celluloid type material. The exact same material was sometimes used as the pasteboards in original TR visor caps.
