Thanks mate! I hear what you are saying! Your comments are much appreciated...

I am not a cloth collector hence my questions! I have heard that these type of caps were also produced in Russia as field upgrades, is this fair to say?

        Thanks guys
        Cheers, Steve

                    Panzer Side Cap

I will chim in just a bit

The white piping is something that has been seen on headgear that was in Italy 43' and in Russia. There have been SS Officer visors with the white piping in the same style as the silver that came out of Italy direct from Vets that were there those items just are textbook but they sure aren't bad ones. I feel it's the same thing with this O/S cap its not a textbook example but its a good cap. White piping for HG fits and makes sense but to me you wouldn't leave the Heer eagle if this was a put together item you would be taking a great deal of money out of your pocket. I think every now and again items come up that just don't fit the norm an all to fast we as collectors push it to the side an pick it apart because its different I know that I have done it. I also don't want to come off in a bad light because its my item I'm more then open to what people think an talking about the item.

                      Tom,
can you put a close inside wiew of grommets, and a large wiew from the whole inside lining ?

                      Steve,
according official regulations, lack of any previous soutache appliation should indicate that the sidecap was made after september 1942.
