        Hello Ron,

        100% Italian and 100% period & pre 1945. Have a look in the Italian section there was thread about these almost 2 years ago. They always have the swaz done like that using two parallel lines of thread,

            Hi,
            that's an interesting bird! I don't doubt its a period item.
            These were made in Italy for the Germans?
            Are there period pics or authentic tunics in collections with this type of bird?
            Are the answers to my questions in the thread mentioned, by Chris, below and what is it called?
            Were they worn by the Germans in Eritrea perhaps?
