Overseas cap. Little bit in doubt

Hi everyone!

I am in doubt about two thinks in presented below overseas cap. First - I don't like how the grommets are fixed from inside. And second - in spite of that fact that the cap is in worn condition the lining material looks like a brand new.

What is yours opinion please.

I am not an expert on these caps. If it is indead a fake, I am looking for a cavalry one for reenacting.

Hello, the fixing of the grommets is quite a simple procedure.
They are made up of two separate pieces the first which is from the outside in is like a cylinder with a coloured collar which is placed through a pre made hole. An inner washer is placed over the cylinder and crimped in place with a special purpose made tool.
In my humble opinion your hat looks fine on the outside but the inside looks like a reproduction but I am no expert

Hello, the fixing of the grommets is quite a simple procedure.

That's why I am in doubt. The gromments on the overseas caps I have in collection and other caps I have seen before not looks like on the presented item. All gromments I have seen before had a ragged edges.
