    DAF festival Cap

Hallo friends, here is another cap from my collection. I've seen that you like civil caps, so I want to show this. The cap itself is a very common anch cheap item, but this one is a textbook who shows some very fine features and a near mint condition.
It's a D.A.F. cap also known as "festivalmuetze".

This is an untouched as per-regulation cap, with a 2 pieces ss-like leather strap.

This is a very peculiar feature. The original DAF cap's side buttons were blue cloth covered such this, not black as sometimes you see. Please note also the 2 ventilation grommets and the nice oak leaves embroided.

This is the classic daf wheel as you usually find inside these caps. I've alwways seen this printed in gold on brilliant blue lining. This cap bears the writing "nach vorschrift der RZM" (after RZM prescription).

Last Picture: here you can see the RZM tag under the sweatband (maker is the number 27 on RZM list) and a nice blue mark on the leather which states "Josef Seiffert "zum loewen" Solingen". This is not the cap's maker but a leather supplies factory placed in solingen.

Great hat , not so much appreciated by the most of collectors
As you know I love all these civilian hats.
Fabio you are right about Josef Seiffert ,he is the maker of the sweatband;the maker of the visor is #27 Felix Weissbach Gaulhau (Feweglia) the most preferred by Chris 'stonemint'
I have a HJ hat of the same factory ,one of the best IMO
                    Ciao
                    Carlo

Yes carlo, I agree to the fact that these caps are not appreciated as they should. Here in Italy just a few guys collect these politic item, as you knows: people loves to collect military stuff. I only know that these items are real treasures of beauty and highest craftsmanship's art that you won't see no more in any time or country, imho.
