Not an original dak heer bevo,IMO, this looks machine embroidered and so is probably a fake/copy from the 70-80's.
The only 'real' dak cap eagles (not counting officers) should look like the ones pictured.

I would include officers in this Jerry. No difference in issue insignia between Officers and Enlisted Men at all. Not many actually replaced the insignia on issue caps either (apart from the occassional cockade).Originally posted by jerry bond View Post

I agree with you Mark that officers caps were issued with the standard Dak bevo eagles, but I was just trying to be clear and not include the small number of officers who applied continental/bullion or even metal eagles to their Dak caps.

Closer to reproductions I have seen than the real deal but if it is a pre-May 45 then it is an Italian made example.
I have not seen a real one ever like this so my feeling at this stage is bad but if it was me I would put it to one side just in-case something Italian surfaces at a latter date.
