    SS Panzer M43 field cap.

    Hey Folks

I came across this cap while on Christmas holiday in Florida. A young guy said he found it in his grandfather's old trunk. Also, he mentioned that, at one time, some uniforms were in this trunk....now missing in action! Anyway, I have searched all 100 of so threads in this area and have found several that LOOK like it. Some have different lining...buttons...thread...and so on. I have been very good to use the "search" function. Still, headgear is not my main interest so can you look at this and put me out of my misery.....PLEASE and thank you very much!

The insignia is a reproduction of the 'Dachau Pirate Trap' which is only found on the einheitsfeldmuetzen with the bare cardboard under the brim, which this item is definately not.

                      Cap

Well, I thought as much. I really appreciate your time. Didn't cost me much at all. It's funny but the bag that was in the shoe box had written on it "HJ cap, 1937".
So is the hat origianl and the insignia not?

The cap isn't a HJ cap. Possibly a Heer Panzer 'M43' but I doubt it personally. Others are better informed to tell you that.

hi Cary HJ caps had a 1 button front closure system has the liner been opened up towards the front of the visor
Give a man an opinion and you feed him for a day,
teach a man to use the "search" function on the WAF and you feed him for a lifetime.
