I am glad you like it. The eagle was replaced because at the end of the war the POWs had to remove anything with a swastika on it. Are you familiar with Papago Park POW Camp in Phoenix, AZ? I can't tell a maker it is really faded. Maybe you can help with that.

No, I can't make out the stamp at all, but that lovely silhouette and sage green twill (along with a couple of other features) make me believe it is an early (1940) Carl Halfar.
I do indeed know that repatriated uniform had to be de-nazified - and I'll have a good look at your links as well...Again - BEAUTIFUL cap.
