    Would be 1950's I suppose, value... Edelweiss about 25, cap...5-10?

        The hat is post war austria.... If the edelweiss is ww2 you might get 50 vucks for it all.. Billbert
        many shots of austrian wearing edelweiss backwards from ww2 germans..

          The original issue Austrian feldkappe (M56) was made from a rough, field-grey wool -- very similar in texture to WW2 caps. The same cap was later produced in a smoother field-grey fabric sometime in the 1970's. I believe the vast majority of these caps were produced by Marie Slama & Sohn. The fact that the label in this cap appears to have been on a plastic shield (and consistent with Slama practice)rather than inked-in, as well as the smoother fabric, suggest to me that this cap is likely from the 1970s.

          Value will be tough. The cap is missing its cockade plus whatever rank was displayed underneath it. The Edelweiß is German, not Austrian. There are some Austrian collectors about, myself included. If WW2, the Edelweiß is the only valuable part of the cap, unfortunately.
