Sorry guys. I just did not had the time to search on this item. As said this is not really what I am collecting, but the collector is selling other items too. I do not have the choice to take all or nothing. And this is something I do not know enough about.....for the time being......

I think what Ben and I are trying to point out is that too many times, the information requested is readily available in a Forum's archieves. For those of us who have been at this for a time period that was pre-internet, you could not collect seriously and not get stung with a lemon now and then. We had to buy books, study and spend money going to shows where information could be exchanged between serious collectors. There are too many people these days that want easy answers without expending personal effort. This cap with little research can be proven good or bad.

It is loud and clear that collecting is more than throwing items on the forum with the request to check whether it is good or bad.
However as said before, I was taken by surprise as all of a sudden this cap showed up as part of an exchange.
Visors are not my speciality, and especially WSS-high value visors.
As said before, I just did not had the time to do a thorough examination.
I had a quick look on visors discussed before and cloth, eagle, skull, and ageing did not agree to the one I was offered.
But, as said before, collecting is full of surprises and I wanted to be sure that I did not let go the one we are all looking after.
So thank you all for your quick responses and it is gone.......forever
(unfortunately this visor was offered not even close to the Usd 50).

At least Excelsior was good enough to reply and thank those of you who contributed. There are others (one in particular) who post items for opinions and then do not even extend the courtsey of responding with a "thank you" to those who have taken the time to help out. That really pisses me off!
