Paul, I'm afraid this is not a real Heer visor but only made to look like one. Just to point out some of the odd features:

      - cap band width (also the wave on the bottom in front)
      - red Peküro lining --- maybe just a variation --- but...
      - ... no Stirndruckfrei feature on the sweatband even though it says: Stirndruckfrei
      - the peak etc...

Of course this is just my opnion but maybe there are others who are more familiar with Peküros.

Agreed--it is a ground-up repro (no original parts). Looks like they tried to heat the plastic to get a celluloid effect. Sorry to be a bearer of bad news.

                Bilbert,
I started collecting militaria in the early '90s before I had a computer. Of course I started with TR items. I've since found my way to collecting British medals. The items I've been posting I've had for over a decade, and had a nagging feeling about. I appreciate everyones input.

At least my SS collar tab is legit

                      Paul,

What part of PA are you located? The first visor cap I bought was a fake SS from a flea market. After I discovered it was bad I tried to educate myself about visor caps through books and forums such as this.

It's understandable you got some bad items in the past, but one of the best things you can do now is post questionable items on this forum. Happy collecting.

Even knowledgeable collectors can get fooled once in awhile, so don't feel bad. The important thing is to educate yourself as much as possible before spending money on an item, especially if there is no return policy. I hate to see the crooks win. Happy hunting!

Don't buy anything, from anybody, without a returns policy, whatever the item is!!! No returns policy = zero trust.....

I believe Charlie Snyder sold in MD. I'm I correct?
