White Kriegsmaring pith helmet opinions wanted

    White Kriegsmaring pith helmet opinions wanted

    Hi guys,

    What are your thoughts on this helmet? It appears someone has added a little paint or whitewash of some sort to clean it up at some point, but I think it was white originally. The other problem I have with it is the interior, I've never seen the extra leather and lacing before on a period pith helmet, has anyone else?

          Actually it looks like the helmet might be green under the white paint unless that is just the shadows that make it look that way in this picture. Either way I do not believe this is a period helmet.

              Even if the helmet was painted white, it does appear the leather trim was white to begin with.
